What was (or is) your favorite subject in school?
I've always been a math & science kind of guy. However, I enjoyed being in music classes in high school and have fond memories of being a part of the band. In college, I didn't spend much time on the arts and focused mainly on the engineering sciences (surprise, surprise). I enjoy physics although I had two horrible professors in college. I also enjoyed history in college. If I were to become a career student, history would probably be one of my degrees.
What albums are in heavy rotation for you right now?
well, i listen to music mostly on my ipod so i'm not really listening to whole albums any more, but here are some of my current favorites:
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Albert King - In Session
David Crowder Band - A Collision
Casting Crowns - Lifesong
Nine Days - The Madding Crowd
Kutless - Strong Tower
B.B. King - King of the Blues
i'm excited about football season coming up. i've got my season tickets for MSU and my vacation lined up to go to as many games as i can. it should be fun. my fantasy football league is also shaping up which should be a lot of fun.
9 days, 3 hours, 58 min, 41 seconds until my fantasy draft.
15 days, 4 hours, 13 min, 21 seconds until college football begins.
What's your morning beverage of choice? Coffee, tea, juice? Homemade or store-bought?
generally, i don't eat breakfast so some mornings i don't have anything to drink at all until later in the day. when i'm at work, though, i usually have a cup of coffee (black, no sugar) when i first get there in the morning. if someone has brought doughnuts for breakfast i find that the bitter coffee following a sweet doughnut is a very pleasant taste combo.
When you were younger, were there any game shows that you religiously watched and wanted to be a contestant on?
i don't know if i've ever religiously watched any game show (or any other TV program) but i remember watching several with some regularity. i used to watch "The Price is Right" whenever we were off from school. also, i remember "The $25,000 Pyramid", "Family Feud", and "Password" and "Bumper Stumpers".
now, while i freely admit that most of these shows are pretty stupid and are little more than a platform for advertisers, any one of them is better than every "reality" show on television now. i would much rather spend my time watching some lady from Indiana try to guess the value of Irish Spring soap than i would watch two crazy people argue over who should get the immunity torch. in fact, i think i would rather watch a cheesy soap opera than i would a reality show. Down with "The Bachelor", long live Bob Barker!!
another thing to note is that Tivo has really changed the way i watch and expect to watch TV. the ability to skip commercials, while it is really nice, is not even the best part of having Tivo. the best part is the ability to time shift the programs and watch what you want when you want. i set my "season pass" for "That 70's Show" and tivo records it every day and i always have 2-5 episodes ready for me when i sit down to watch TV.
Tivo is the greatest technology ever.
What do you usually do on Sunday?
Well this is going to be a boring answer. On Sundays I go to church, go out to eat lunch, come home and either take a nap or work around the house, go to church at night, go out to eat dinner, then back home for bed. This is true every week with very few exceptions.
its 3:20am and i just woke myself up with the hiccups. i didn't think that could happen while you are asleep.
What is your favorite cover song?
Question submitted by Ray.
this one is easy. by far, my favorite cover song is the Metallica remake of Bob Seger's song "Turn the Page". i think the remake is better than the original.
